(Alliance News) - TI Fluid Systems PLC on Tuesday said revenue fell as it has grappled with a tricky automotive market so far in 2024.
The Oxford, England-based maker of thermal management and fluid handling systems said that revenue was down 4.1% year-on-year in the nine months ended September 30 to EUR2.51 billion. At constant currency, it was 2.9% lower.
TI Fluid Systems said revenue was down 5.9% year-on-year at constant currency for the third quarter alone.
Chief Executive Officer Hans Dieltjens said: "We have delivered a resilient performance in the first nine months of the year in an increasingly challenging and uncertain global automotive market.
"Given this backdrop, we have intensified our self-help activities, with operational efficiency, productivity and further fixed cost reduction measures. Our bookings are on track and above 2023 despite delays to tenders as customers revise their plans, especially in relation to electrification."
The company said the recent softening of market volumes is expected to result in a low to mid-single digit constant currency revenue decline in 2024 compared to a year ago. Revenue in 2023 totalled EUR3.52 billion.
In October, TI Fluid said it would be "minded to recommend" an improved takeover bid from Canadian rival ABC Technologies Inc.
The 200 pence per share proposal values TI Fluid Systems at GBP993 million. ABC Technologies is backed by Apollo Management IX LP.
The FTSE 250-listed stock was trading 1.3% higher at 168.60 pence this morning.
