LONDON (Alliance News) - Thor Mining PLC on Wednesday said that it received "encouraging" preliminary rock chip sampling results from Bonya project in Australia.
The exploration and development company said that rock chip samples were collected from the Tashkent, Jericho South, Samarkand and White Violet prospects and the study showed that these contain 1.4%, 0.8%, 3.5% and 0.6% of tungsten trioxide, respectively.
The tests also showed that rock chips from Jericho South and White Violet deposits contain 1.1% and 3.3% of copper, respectively.
"These preliminary results support the validity of historical drilling and trenching assay data and bode well for the imminent development of the Bonya deposits," said Executive Chairman Mick Billing.
"We are gearing up to fast track the assessment and development of the Bonya deposits within the 2018 field season," added Billing.
Shares in Thor Mining were trading 5.2% higher at 2.37 pence per share on Wednesday.
