LONDON (Alliance News) - Thomas Cook Group PLC Tuesday said it has changed its brand logo to a "sunny heart" symbol, which will replace the existing blue globe on its websites.
In a transformational move to brand unification, the 172-year-old travel operator said that all of its brands and market activity will now be under the new "sunny heart" symbol. It said that the new logo will replace the old globe symbol on its websites, in its international stores, airline fleet, and throughout its UK headquarters and overseas offices.
"It symbolises how we are leveraging the combined power of the group to maximise our presence in the mind of customers, whilst helping to reduce cost," said Chief Executive Officer, Harriet Green, in a statement.
Thomas Cook said that its other brands will carry the logo, including Condor Airlines, Ving in Sweden, and Elegant Resorts in the UK.
"Having already piloted this approach in our North European businesses since November 2012, we have proven that it has heightened brand awareness, driven more website traffic, increased early and repeat bookings and improved conversion rates. This unification has been developed internally and we are rolling it out appropriately for this stage in our transformation journey," said Group Chief Financial Officer Michael Healy in a statement.
Thomas Cook Group shares were trading at 152.00 pence per share Tuesday morning, down 0.9%.
