LONDON (Alliance News) - Thomas Cook Group PLC on Tuesday said it has extended the cancellation of all bookings to Egyptian holiday resort Sharm el-Sheikh up to and including October 31.
The travel group had previously cancelled all bookings to the resort up to and including May 25, following the downing of a Russian passenger jet which exploded from a terrorist bomb shortly after taking off from the resort, killing all 224 people on board.
On Tuesday, Thomas Cook said with no change to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office advice with regards to travel to Sharm el-Sheikh airport, it has taken the decision to extend cancellation of all bookings to the resort.
The UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office currently advises against all travel to the resort.
Thomas Cook said customers who are due to travel to Sharm el-Sheikh up to and including October 31 can cancel or amend their holiday to another destination free of charge.
Shares in Thomas Cook were trading down 0.2% at 104.50 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
