LONDON (Alliance News) - The Restaurant Group PLC Thursday said it has made progress so far in the second half of 2015 with sales in the year to date ahead of the comparable period.
The restaurant operator, which owns chains including Frankie & Benny's, Garfunkel's and Chiquito, said total sales in the 45 weeks ended November 8 were 8% ahead of the comparable period in 2014, with like-for-likes 2% ahead.
The company has opened 25 new restaurants so far in 2015 which it said are performing well and set to deliver strong returns in line with its targets. It expects to open a total of 43 to 45 new sites in 2015 on the whole and at least as many in 2016.
"We are confident that the business will continue to make good progress during the remainder of the year and expect to report full-year results in line with market expectations," Restaurant Group said in a statement.
Shares in Restaurant Group were trading down 1.7% at 688.50 pence at the open on Thursday.
