LONDON (Alliance News) - The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd Monday said it has bought two onshore UK wind farms with combined generating capacity of approximately 22 megawatts for a total of GBP19.1 million.
It has bought the Tallentire Wind Farm in Cumbria and the Meikle Carewe Wind Farm near Aberdeen in Scotland from Renewable Energy Systems. It had already negotiated a right of first offer deal on the assets.
In a statement, Renewables Infrastructure Group said it now has 24 projects in its portfolio, up from 18 at the time of its initial public offering in July last year. It has funded the latest deal using existing cash resources. The total generating capacity of its portfolio is now over 340 mega watts.
"TRIG continues to progress a number of additional opportunities for expanding the portfolio in both solar PV and onshore wind to increase further the scale and diversification of the company," it said.
The Renewables Infrastructure Group shares were down 0.2% at 105.75 pence Monday morning.
