The People's Operator Partners In US With Save The Children

19th Jun 2015 07:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - The People's Operator PLC Friday said it has entered a US-based partnership with charity Save the Children to raise funds for children in need around the world.

The cause-based mobile virtual network operator said that subscribers can direct 10% of their monthly mobile spend to a cause of their choice, at no extra cost.

The agreement with Save the Children comes ahead of The People's Operator's launch in the North American market and represents one of a number of partnerships agreed with major cause organisations in the US, it said.

The People's Operator added that it has recruited Claire Kavanagh to the newly created role of head of customer experience, ahead of the US launch. Kavanagh has 15 years' experience in telecommunications and most recently helped launch mobile network giffgaff.

"Save the Children is well recognised for the outstanding work that it does in improving children's lives. We are proud to partner with them ahead of our launch into the US and we look forward to working with them to deliver an outstanding service to their supporters whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for their work," Chief Executive Mark Epstein said in a statement.

"In addition, we are delighted to welcome Claire to the group. Customer experience is at the heart of everything we do and Claire is an industry leader in delivering first class support to customers. She will be a great asset to the team," he added.

Shares in The People's Operator were untraded early Friday, last trading at 124.75 pence.
