LONDON (Alliance News) - The People's Operator PLC said Tuesday that it has launched in the US, and has also launched its new social network the TPO Community.
The mobile virtual network operator provides mobile packages where 10% of a users mobile spend goes towards a social cause of their choice. Ahead of its launch in the US the company has agreed a number of partnerships, including with Save the Children, WaterAid and the World Wildlife Fund.
Its service in the US will utilise Sprint Corp's 4G network.
"The group's business model is already proven with the early success we have enjoyed in the UK and today's launch of TPO in the US is a key milestone for the business. The US is not only an attractive market for us as one of the world's largest mobile phone markets, but is also a springboard for our planned global growth," said Chief Executive Officer Mark Epstein in a statement.
Additionally the company said its operations in the UK are continuing in line with management expectations.
Shares in the People's Operator were untraded Tuesday morning. It last closed at 129.00 pence.
