LONDON (Alliance News) - The AA PLC Monday said it has signed a contract with Volkswagen Group UK under which it will provide roadside assistance for around one million new vehicles for up to 36 months in the UK and Europe.
Under the deal, the breakdown service provider will provide roadside assistance for Volkswagen passenger cars, as well as those of the Audi, SKODA and SEAT brands, and for Volkswagen commercial vehicles.
The AA said it has invested in its Oldbury operational centre in the West Midlands in order to strengthen its ability to handle all customer roadside assistance enquiries.
"The Volkswagen Group makes some of the best reviewed and most reliable cars on the road and it's our job to help keep it that way," said AA Chief Executive Chris Jansen.
"We have invested heavily in the service to provide state-of-the-art dedicated operational support both in the UK and Europe," he added.
AA shares were quoted at 249.88 pence early Monday, up from 245.00p at the close Friday.
