LONDON (Alliance News) - Energy services company Thalassa Holdings Ltd on Tuesday said its Autonomous Robotics Ltd unit is developing a flying node system which will operate as a swarm of underwater vehicles for recording ocean bottom seismic data.
Autonomous Robotics has forecast that by using the system, recovery rates will improve significantly compared to other nodes, which should reduce cost of collecting this seismic data.
"This technology has the potential to hugely disrupt the offshore seismic market" said Dave Grant of Autonomous Robotics.
Shares in Thalassa were up 1.9% to 54.00 pence Tuesday morning.
