LONDON (Alliance News) - Exova Group PLC on Tuesday said it has opened its first facility in the North East of the US with a new materials and corrosion testing laboratory in Pittsburgh.
The Pittsburgh laboratory represents Exova's 143rd facility in 32 countries worldwide.
"This new investment underlines our commitment to being at the forefront of industrial materials and corrosion solutions. Offering both testing and advisory capabilities we are able to support our customers throughout the entire life cycle of oil and gas and industrial assets, helping them to meet their technical and commercial needs," Gary Brimmage, President of Exova in the Americas, said in a statement.
The laboratory will provide testing and consultancy services in metallurgy, polymers and coatings as well as corrosion risk assessment and mitigation, primarily to the oil & gas and industrials sectors, the company said.
The opening of the laboratory marks an extension of the company's advisory services in areas including failure analysis and risk assessment.
The specialist team in Pittsburgh will work with customers to improve the performance and quality to their in-service assets, Exova said.
The new facility will be part of Exova's oil and gas division in the US and will also work closely with the company's broader network of oil & gas, aerospace and industrials laboratories.
Shares in Exova were up 1.4% at 163.50 pence on Tuesday afternoon in London.
