4th Jul 2016 09:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tesco PLC on Monday said Steve Golsby will join the board as a non-executive director with effect from October 1, noting Golsby's experience in South East Asia.

The FTSE 100-listed supermarket chain said Golsby is a non-executive director of Mead Johnson Nurtrition Co, a US-listed global infant nutrition company, of which he was previously president and chief executive.

Golsby currently also serves as an advisor to seafood-based food products producer Thai Union Group PCL, and to the government of Thailand's agency Thailand Board of Investment.

"I'm delighted to welcome Steve as a non-executive director. He has extensive experience of building and developing businesses in South East Asia, and his skills and experience complement the existing skills and experience of the board," said Chairman John Allan.

Shares in Tesco were up 0.1% at 177.40 pence on Monday morning.
