Tertiary Minerals To Restart Drilling At MB Fluorspar Next Week

4th Dec 2015 07:59

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tertiary Minerals PLC Friday said it will begin the next phased of drilling at the MB project in the US next week and said it expects to secure a exploitation permit for the Storuman mine in Sweden shortly.

The fluorspar miner said it will begin the fourth phase of drilling at the MB project in Nevada next Monday, drilling 1,800 metres over five holes to test the size of the higher grade mineralisation the company previously found in the western area of the acreage.

Tertiary Minerals is also expecting to receive the exploitation, or mine permit for the Storuman fluorspar mine "shortly" after progressing the consultation process to its final stages. The miner said it has secured the support from the "majority" of stakeholder groups.

"The company is pleased to be able to report solid progress with its key fluorspar projects against a backdrop of very challenging market conditions," said Managing director Richard Clemmey.

Fluorspar, a commercial term for the mineral fluorite, is a raw material used in the smelting process in the chemical, steel and aluminium industries.
