Tertiary Minerals Says Two Appeals Made Against Fluorspar Project

29th Mar 2016 13:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tertiary Minerals PLC on Tuesday said two appeals have been lodged against its Storuman fluorspar project in Sweden.

The appeals have been made by the Sami Reindeer Husbandry Community and Urbergsgruppen, a Swedish environmental action group opposed to all mining in Sweden.

Tertiary said it expects the Swedish government to reject the appeals as six of the seven key stakeholder groups for the project have offered their backing, and given the economic growth the project will deliver for the surrounding region.

The timeframe for the government to deal with the appeals is unknown at present, Tertiary said, and it will provide updates when this becomes clear.

Tertiary shares were down 8.4% to 1.9 pence.
