Tengri Identifies Two New Bashkol Targets, Adds Second Drill At Bekbulaktor

9th Sep 2014 09:03

LONDON (Alliance News) - Tengri Resources Tuesday said it has identified two new targets at the Bashkol project in the Kyrgyz Republic and said it has added a second drill to the Bekbulaktor prospect.

The Kyrgyz Republic-focused copper company said the encouraging results from the three drillholes already completed at Bekbulaktor had pushed it to introduce a second rig to the programme and expedite the drilling campaign at the site.

In addition, the surface mapping and sampling underway has already identify two new prospects, Marta and Sari, approximately 10 kilometres southwest of the Bekbulaktor site.

Geologists working on behalf of Tengri are also conducting a review of previous exploration data at Bashkol, the results from which indicate the presence of an intrusion-related gold system. Further tests are now to take place to test the mineral potential of the system.

"Tengri Resources is pleased with results returned to date from its exploration programme at the Bashkol project," said Tengri Chief Executive Bruce Lumley.

"Recent exploration results support our efforts to build our geological database at Bashkol, and adding our second drill rig will enable us to expedite doing so before the onset of winter," Lumley added.

Tengri shares were untraded on Tuesday, quoted at 8.5 pence per share.
