LONDON (Alliance News) - Templeton Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC on Friday said its investment return underperformed its benchmark over the first half of its financial year.
The trust said its total return on net asset value was down 28.0% while the MSCI Emerging Markets Index was down 18.8% in the six months to September 30.
Meanwhile, Paul Manduca has become the chairman of the trust, as indicated in June. Manduca also is the chairman of FTSE 100 life insurer Prudential PLC. He replaced Peter Smith, who served eight years in the role.
Shares in the trust were up 1.5% at 427.30 pence on Friday afternoon.
