LONDON (Alliance News) - Machine-to-machine communications and 'internet-of-things' technology provider Telit Communications PLC on Monday said it has secured a USD220.0 million supply deal as one of the technology providers on the GBP11.3 billion smart metering infrastructure project in the UK.
Supplies on the deal are expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2016 and run through to the end of 2021, Telit said.
Under the deal, Telit's internet of things cellular modules will be used to power a portion of the 30 million "comms" hubs which will bridge the data communications between the smart meters and cellular networks.
