(Alliance News) - Telecom Plus PLC on Tuesday said its number of customers increased as it remains confident in its previous guidance for adjusted pretax profit and customer growth for the financial year.
Telecom Plus is a London-based provider of bundled household utility services, including energy, broadband and mobile telecommunications, and insurance under the Utility Warehouse brand.
Telecom Plus said the total number of customers rose 19% to around 1.39 million in the six months to September 30, including substantially all of the customers it acquired from TalkTalk in two tranches earlier this year.
Organic customer growth was around 5.5% in the first financial half, with the firm citing its multi-service proposition and differentiated route to market.
Telecom Plus added that it expects to split its profitability to around 25% in the first financial half and 75% in its second, which is different from its historical split of roughly 35/65 in favour of the second financial half.
The company said it remains confident in reaching its previous guidance for adjusted pretax profit and customer growth for the full year ending March 31. In June, it had guided for an adjusted pretax profit between GBP132 million and GBP138 million for financial 2026, up at least 4.5% from GBP126.3 million in financial 2025, which had been up 8.1% from GBP116.9 million the year before.
Further, it had guided for financial 2026 customer growth of around 15%, the same as in financial 2025.
Chief Executive Officer Stuart Burnett said: "We are pleased to have maintained our compound double digit customer growth rate for a further six months, simply by helping households to save time and money on their essential household bills, and demonstrating the ability of our unique multiservice model to provide market-leading savings in a wide range of market conditions.
We have exceeded our initial cross-sell expectations into the first tranche of broadband customers we acquired from TalkTalk, and are excited by the future opportunities this creates."
The company will publish half year results on November 25.
Telecom Plus shares rose 0.9% to 1,838.00 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
