(Alliance News) - Shares in Tekcapital PLC rocketed on Monday morning after the company's investee Belluscura PLC filed a patent application for a portable oxygen enrichment ventilation for treating patients with respiratory diseases such as Covid-19 and influenza.
Shares in Tekcapital were up 46% at 5.99 pence each in London, having peaked earlier at 7.48p.
The intellectual property investment company said Belluscura and partner Separation Design Group have filed a patent application relating to a novel modular portable oxygen enrichment ventilation systems for treating patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases and acute respiratory distress syndrome brought on by such diseases as COVID-19, caused by the new coronavirus.
Belluscura is focused on developing oxygen-based medical treatment platform.
Tekcapital Chair Clifford Gross said: "We are very pleased to see the additional progress of Belluscura as it continues to develop intellectual property in the oxygen therapy space that can potentially help patients with COPD and acute respiratory distress syndrome brought on by viruses such as Covid-19".
