TechnipFMC Moves Energean's FPSO Unit To Singapore For Further Work

6th Apr 2020 18:04

(Alliance News) - Oil & gas services provider TechnipFMC PLC said Monday that the Energean Power floating production storage and offloading unit has sailed away from the yard where it was built in Liuhueng Island, China on Friday last week.

The FPSO is owned by FTSE 250-listed Energean Oil & Gas PLC, who said in early February that construction was continuing on the hull of the FPSO.

The FPSO is now being towed to Admiralty Yard in Singapore, where it is due to arrive in mid-April, where the pre-built topsides will be lifted onto the hull.

This will be followed by integration, commissioning and start-up in Singapore before the completed FPSO sets sail for Israel.

"This is a massive project with participation from TechnipFMC BU's and Suppliers all over the world. There have been contributions from Norway, the UK, France, Alabama in the U.S., China and Singapore. There's been work onshore in Israel, too. We're two years into this project and on target for Energean to produce first gas at Karish and Tannin in June 2021," said Project Director Willy Gauttier.

Shares in Energean Oil & Gas closed 0.7% higher at 682.00 pence on Monday in London, while TechnipFMC's shares were 3.0% higher in New York.
