Taylor Wimpey Non-Executive Kate Barker Steps Down After Nine Years

24th Feb 2020 16:49

(Alliance News) - Taylor Wimpey PLC said Monday that Non-Executive Director Kate Barker will step down from her role with effect on July 31.

Barker has been a part of the FTSE 100 housebuilder for nine years, and had volunteered to extend her tenure to provide a "period of continuity" to Irene Dorner, who will become chair on Wednesday.

Barker is part of the UK Cabinet Office's Geospatial Commission as one of four new commissioners, and has been since 2019.

"I would like to express both my own and the board's immense gratitude to Kate for her long and valued contribution to the company over the past nine years, during which she has provided wise counsel as senior independent director to myself as chair," said Chair Kevin Beeston.

"She has been a great colleague and a great contributor throughout her tenure as a director. We are also grateful to Kate for her willingness to remain as a member of the board until July and we wish her all the very best for the future," Beeston added.

Shares in Taylor Wimpey closed down 3.5% at 224.30 pence on Monday in London.
