Taylor Wimpey Appoints Retiring Land Securities Chief Noel To Board

19th Jul 2019 08:25

(Alliance News) - Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey PLC said Friday that the retiring Chief Executive of Land Securities Group PLC Robert Noel will join the company as an independent non-executive director in October.

Last week, Noel said he would leave the FTSE 100 listed commercial property developer during 2020, after spending 10 years with the company.

Noel was formerly the property director of Great Portland Street Estates PLC from 2002 to 2009 and was recently the president of the British Property Federation trade association, Taylor Wimpey said.

Chair Kevin Beeston said: "I am very pleased to welcome Robert to the board. Robert has a deep understanding of the property sector and a strong track record of success as the chief executive of Land Securities, all of which will provide an excellent fit for our board's current skill set and balance. Robert will be a valuable adviser and contributor to both the board and the Taylor Wimpey business and we all very much look forward to working with him."

Shares in Taylor Wimpey were up 0.1% at 165.05 pence each in London on Friday morning. Land Securities shares were down 0.1% at 842.00p.
