Talks Aimed At Averting BA Pilot Strikes To Continue Next Week

2nd Aug 2019 17:33

(Alliance News) - Talks aimed at averting strikes by British Airways pilots are to continue next week.

British Airways is a subsidiary of FTSE-100 listed International Consolidated Airlines Group SA.

Leaders of the British Airline Pilots Association have been meeting the company for the past three days under the chairmanship of the conciliation service Acas, to try to resolve the dispute over pay.

The union said: "British Airline Pilots Association and British Airways have been in talks at Acas since Wednesday afternoon in order to try and resolve the dispute between British Airways and its pilots.

"Those talks continued on Thursday and Friday. Both sides have agreed to resume talks next week.

"In the meantime Balpa will not announce any industrial action dates at this time.

"Balpa is still committed to finding a negotiated solution to this dispute."

The union would have to give two weeks' notice of any industrial action.
