Taihua Warns Forsythia Harvest To Be Hit By Poor Weather Conditions

5th May 2015 07:05

LONDON (Alliance News) - China-based pharmaceutical products company Taihua PLC Tuesday warned that it expects its Forsythia harvest to be smaller than in previous years due to poor weather conditions to date, although it is "too early" to tell what the actual affect on the harvest will be.

Forsythia is used in Chinese herbology. The company said that there has been frost during the flowering season. There are two stages to the production of Forsythia, the flowering period and the harvest period, and in both it is important there is no frost.

Shares in Taihua are trading down 16.5% at 2.40 pence at market open Tuesday.
