SyQic Gets February Payment From Nextnation Prisma

22nd Sep 2014 09:45

LONDON (Alliance News) - SyQic PLC said Monday that it has received GBP280,000 from Indonesia telecommunications company PT Nextnation Prisma owed from February.

PT Nextnation Prisma had previously said in June that its 2014 billings will not be on a payment plan, and thus the payment would be paid more promptly. As it has received consecutive payments from the company for January and February within the notified time-frame, SyQic will not announce further payments.

The payment for February takes total sums from the company for 2014 to around GBP630,000.

SyQic expects to activate a mobile payment service for its over-the-top television offering, meaning television provided over the internet, to complement its current scratch-card payment method for its Yoonic streaming product. The company expects this new payment service to help facilities the take up of the Yoonic service into new markets, as it simplifies the process of buying content and renewing subscriptions.

The mobile payment service was developed in partnership with Estonia mobile payments company Fortumo.

Additionally, SyQic completed its acquisition of Korean online video-on-demand service Maaduu from PlayTV Asia Sdn Bhd, announced in August.

SyQic expects to announce its interim results September 25.

Shares in SyQuic were trading 7.3% higher at 61.70 pence per share Monday morning.
