LONDON (Alliance News) - Synectics PLC on Wednesday said it has been awarded a contract extension with Stagecoach Group PLC, the UK bus and train operator.
The surveillance technology and networked security systems company said the continuation of its 13-year relationship with Stagecoach will see it supply, install and maintain CCTV on the bus operator's 8,500-strong fleet of vehicles in Europe.
The extended agreement will see Synectics support Stagecoach for another year, up to March 31, 2017. The deal covers system installations on new vehicles operating across the UK and in mainland Europe.
Over the past three years, Synectics has equipped 1,660 new vehicles with the latest on-vehicle CCTV and maintained existing systems across a growing fleet.
"This contract extension demonstrates our ability to meet the complex technology needs of large bus and coach fleets. Our deep transport sector expertise combined with our technical capabilities help us anticipate emerging requirements to make sure we have the best solution to hand when it's needed," Paul Webb, chief executive of Synectics, said.
Shares in Synectics were untraded at 140.00 pence on Wednesday morning.
