BRUSSELS (Alliance News) - Switzerland's trade surplus increased notably in July as imports declined sharply from June, data from the Federal Customs Administration showed Thursday.
Despite a slowdown in exports, the trade surplus rose to CHF 3.98 billion in July from CHF 1.4 billion in June.
Exports grew only 0.2% in July from June, when it surged 6%. Meanwhile, imports plunged 10.2%, reversing the 10.8% increase in June.
On a yearly basis, exports advanced by real 4.5%, while imports fell 4.6% in July.
