(Alliance News) - Superdry PLC on Friday said that Nick Gresham has decided to step down as chief financial officer with immediate effect, a surprise departure amid ongoing restructuring at the retailer led by Founder & Chief Executive Officer Julian Dunkerton.
"The company intends to start a search for a permanent replacement while interim arrangements are put in place," the fashion chain said in a short statement, without providing any reasons behind the sudden departure. Gresham had joined Superdry only in August 2019.
Before Superdry, Gresham was finance chief at pure-play online sports and cycling retailer Wiggle and previously held CFO roles at Oak Furnitureland and newspaper distributor Connect Group PLC.
CEO Dunkerton said: "Nick joined Superdry at a time of significant change and challenge in the business. He has played an important role in putting the company in a stronger position than it was before he joined and helped to steer Superdry through the impact of the Covid pandemic. I would like to personally thank Nick for all his efforts in supporting me, the company and all our stakeholders. I wish him all the best for the future."
Shares in Superdry were down 4.0% at 145.10 pence each in London on Friday morning.
