Sunrise Stakes Claims In Nevada, Says Australia Focus To Be On Baker's

27th Jul 2016 13:12

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sunrise Resources PLC on Wednesday said it has staked 15 claims over the Stonewall prospect within the New Project site in Nevada and said it has decided that its focus in Australia will be on the Baker's gold project.

Sunrise said at its New Project site in Nevada, it has staked 15 claims over the Stonewall epithermal gold prospect in the Goldfield area of the Walker Lane mineral belt, to add to the gold-and silver project portfolio it is building in its Westgold Inc subsidiary.

These claims have been staked to cover a larger vein structure showing "epithermal vein textures commonly associated with gold and silver mineralisation", Sunrise said, and noted that it was currently researching historical exploration results from the area.

Meanwhile, in Australia, Sunrise said it has undertaken an internal review and soil sampling programmes at both of its projects, and has decided to focus its efforts on the Baker's gold project instead of the Corona gold project. This came after low level anomalies were identified at Corona, but were considered to be a lower priority for follow up compared to the significant gold in soil anomaly found at Baker's.

As such, it said it has surrendered its exploration licence for the Corona gold site ahead of the next rental payment.

Sunrise said it is seeking a joint venture partner to test the drill-ready targets at the Baker's site.

Shares in Sunrise were up 2.3% at 0.220 pence on Wednesday.
