LONDON (Alliance News) - Styles & Wood Group PLC Friday said it had won a place as one of five contractors appointed to revamp the Post Office network, but is the only one to have secured a place on all four of the regional contracts.
The contract includes installing new flooring, shop fittings, internal signage and lighting and revisions to internal branch layout, as the government tries to modernise and improve the state of the UK's Post Offices.
The contracts are being awarded for for regions: Northern Ireland, Northern England, Midlands and South West, and London and South East. Styles & Wood has won a place on all the contracts.
"Whilst we continue to successfully diversify the business by sector, retail remains one of our core offerings and we are pleased to further strengthen our client base with one of Britain's leading high street retailers," Chief Executive Tony Lenehan said in a statement.
Styles & Wood shares were up 16.9% at 5.7 pence early Friday.
