LONDON (Alliance News) - STV Group PLC on Thursday said it is making a new data-based countdown show which explores the phenomenon of the celebrity power couple, which was commissioned by Channel 5.
The TV production company said it will be working with co-production partner and media investment group GroupM Entertainment to produce Ultimate Celebrity Power Couples '16, a two-hour special which will give a "definitive countdown of the top 40 most powerful celebrity couples".
The couples will be ranked according to their reported wealth, their media impact and their political muscle, STV Group said.
"One of the most interesting aspects of the show is the latest social media data that we're using to compile the list. This wasn't available in previous years and vividly reveals the media penetration of the most successful celebrity couples," said Liam Hamilton, deputy director of STV Productions.
Shares in STV were down 1.6% at 324.80 pence on Thursday.
