(Alliance News) - Strix Group PLC on Wednesday said it has launched its new water purification and disinfection solution within the rapidly growing livestock farming industry in China.
The designer, manufacturer and supplier of water temperature management components said the market in China is worth RMB5 billion - or USD732.7 million - but will be focusing on automated farms worth approximately RMB500 million.
The company's HaloPure technology can treat raw incoming water as well as maintain an ongoing sanitised environment throughout the water line.
This comes after Strix conducted live testing in China over the last year, with system enhancement and performance improvements due to be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.
The technology has a wide use of applications including in disinfecting within the healthcare and dentistry sectors.
Chief Executive Mark Bartlett said: "The livestock farming industry in China is clearly a considerable market opportunity in addition to the healthcare and dentistry industries. The technology is well positioned to respond to an anticipated policy in China which will require regulated water for use in all livestock farms, hospitals and clinics."
Strix shares were up 9.6% at 241.00 pence each on Wednesday morning in London.
