Stratmin Completes Installation Of Scrubber; Positive Initial Results

18th Mar 2014 12:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Stratmin Global Resources PLC Tuesday said it has successfully completed the installation, calibration and trial of its Mech Protech scrubber at its Loharano project in Madagascar.

The graphite exploration and production company said that, following installation, a number of trial production runs on site showed very positive initial performance of the scrubber, with an immediate uplift in the carbon content of the graphite produced.

The company said that the most recent trial production batch averaged a carbon content of 90%, with some samples as high as 92%, a significant increase from previous results of around 78%.

Stratmin said that it also expects to achieve more improvements in the contained graphite percentage, as the benefits from investment of further resources in the processing plant are realised.

The delivery of the equipment for the scrubbers had been delayed due to bad weather at the ports of Durban in South Africa and Port Louis in Mauritius, pushing back first production which the company had planned for February. The equipment arrived at its site in Madagascar on February 15.

Scrubbers efficiently process precious and base metal ores, industrial minerals, aggregates, gravel and sand.

Shares in StratMin were trading up 4.4% at 9.00 pence Tuesday.
