Stratex Says Operations Not Affected By Failed Turkey Coup Attempt

18th Jul 2016 07:00

LONDON (Alliance News) - Stratex International PLC Monday said all of its personnel are "safe and well" and its operations have not been affected by the recent disturbances in Turkey.

A group of military personnel in the country launched a coup over the weekend against Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan which ultimately failed and led to the deaths of 290 people, according to the foreign ministry, of which around 100 participated in the coup.

Stratex has four exploration projects and two development projects in Turkey. The Altinepe gold project and the Muratdere gold and copper asset are the two main projects held by the London-listed company in the country.

The company said there has been "no impact" on the company's operations from the recent incidents in Turkey.

Stratex also holds projects in West and East Africa.
