LONDON (Alliance News) - Stratex International PLC on Wednesday said cold commissioning at the Altintepe gold mine in Turkey will start in the middle of this month.
Stratex owns a 45% stake in the project, with the rest owned by joint venture partner Bahar Madencilik.
Stratex said construction is on track to complete this month, with cold commissioning to follow ahead of hot commissioning and, ultimately, full production.
"Our partners continue to make good progress and advise that construction is still due to be completed this month, with first gold pour expected in the following few weeks. The professional approach to all aspects of the construction is a credit to their commitment to delivering Turkey's next producing gold mine," said Stratex Chief Executive Bob Foster.
Shares in Stratex were up 15% to 1.58 pence on Wednesday, one of the best performers in the AIM All-Share.
