LONDON (Alliance News) - Gold and base metal exploration company Stratex International PLC announced on Thursday the appointment of Marcus Engelbrecht as chief executive officer, replacing current CEO and co-founder Bob Foster.
Shares in Stratex were up 5.4% at 1.87 early Thursday.
Engelbrecht was previously CEO of AIM-quoted gold company Archipelago Resources PLC, as well as spending 20 years at BHP Billiton PLC, including time as chief financial officer of the Diamond & Specialty Products division.
Bob Foster will act as a consultant to the company.
"The company is extremely fortunate to have secured the services of Marcus Engelbrecht to take over from Bob as a director and CEO. I have known Marcus since he was Managing Director of Archipelago Resources PLC and have every confidence that he will continue the development of the company as a successful explorer and mine developer" said Stratex Chairman Christopher Hall.
