LONDON (Alliance News) - Stratex International PLC Wednesday said it has achieved positive results from its drill programme at the Dalafin project in Senegal.
The gold and base metals exploration and development company, which has operations in Turkey, East Africa and West Africa, said the programme found a 59.6 metre space from the surface at 2.2 grams per tonne gold including 18 metres at 4.27 grams per tonne gold in its Fare South zone.
The company said it also found a 14 metre space at 2.94 grams per tonne of gold from 11 metres down including a 3 metre space at 10.7 grams per tonne gold, also in the Fare South zone.
Stratex said that results from Fare North were less strong, including a 3.5 metre space at 2.06 grams per tonne of gold from 14.10 metres depth.
The company said drilling is yet to be undertaken on its fourth target, the Madina Bafe zone, but is planned within the next two to three months.
The current overall drill programme is for 4,880 metres on 57 holes across three key zones at Dalafin - Fare, Baytilaye and Saroudia.
Stratex shares were down 0.4% to 4.11 pence Wednesday.
