LONDON (Alliance News) - Strategic Minerals PLC on Thursday said its Cornwall joint venture has appointed Devon-based geologist Brett Grist as the exploration manager for the Redmoor drilling programme.
Minerals production and development company Strategic Minerals said Cornwall Resources Ltd's appointment of Grist is in line with the company's strategy to bolster senior ground management team ahead of the planned 2017 drilling programme.
The programme is aimed to extend the recourse at the Redmoor tin/tungsten project in Cornwall, England.
Grist's most recent role was as CEO of Casa Mining Ltd in the Republic of Congo, during its discovery of a 1.2 million ounce gold resource at the Misisi deposit.
Cornwall Resources is a joint venture between Strategic Minerals and New Age Exploration Ltd.
"The addition of Grist, along with the progress we are making with the tender for the drilling programme, sees us on track to commence drilling in the first half of this year. Grist's experience and his knowledge of the area should prove a valuable asset and we welcome him to the team," said Strategic Minerals Managing Director John Peters.
Shares in Strategic Minerals were up 1.0% at 0.53 pence on Thursday morning.
