LONDON (Alliance News) - Strategic Minerals PLC on Thursday said maiden drilling programme planning has begun for the Hanns Camp nickel-copper sulphide project in Western Australia.
The company also said the permit of work for the project has been lodged with the Western Australian Department of Mines.
Strategic Minerals shares were up 30% to 0.202 pence early Thursday, the best performer in the AIM All-Share.
Drilling is expected to start in mid-to-late May, once the permit has been secured, Strategic Minerals said.
Hanns Camp is part of the Laverton Project, in which Strategic Minerals owns a 50% stake.
"The lodgement of permit of work with the West Australian government is an exciting first step on the road to assessing our interest in the tenements known as Hanns Camp at Laverton. Current planning has drilling expected in mid to late May in line with our previous announcement. We look forward to keeping the market abreast of developments relating to the drilling programme as they unfold," said Strategic Minerals Chairman Alan Broome.
