Strat Aero Says Progress Made With WindSpect Product

7th Jul 2015 09:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Aerospace services company Strat Aero PLC on Tuesday said it has made progress on the WindSpect wind turbine blade inspection product, a joint venture with airborne sensor data fusion software and technology company AirFusion.

Following the launch of the product at the American Wind Energy Association conference in May, Strat Aero said it holding multiple discussions with potential customers in the wind farm industry and is advancing a number of leads generated at the event.

"Combined with the right software platform, UAVs offer significant time and cost savings, as well as broader and enhanced service capabilities, to the growing wind turbine industry and wider commercial sector. We believe WindSpect, which combines Strat Aero's leading position as a provider of UAV training and services with AirFusion's patent pending and highly advanced Wind Edition Inspection software and analytics, fits the bill," said Russell Peck, Strat Aero's chief executive.

Shares in Strat Aero were up 4.4% to 6.00 pence on Tuesday.
