LONDON (Alliance News) - Aerospace services company Strat Aero PLC on Monday said it has received a letter of intent from part of the Dutch government to advance towards creating a drone training centre in the country.
Strat Aero said it is now holding talks at a senior level with the Netherlands government to establish an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle training centre which, if it becomes a reality, would be the first such training centre established in northern Europe.
As part of the talks, the company has entered into a non-binding letter of intent with Innovation Quarter, the regional economic development agency for West Holland.
"We view this letter of intent with Innovation Quarter and discussions with the government of the Netherlands to establish and operate the first UAV pilot training and research and development centre in Northern Europe as testament to Strat Aero's high standing within the aerospace sector, and the rapidly emerging UAV market in particular," said Russell Peck, chief executive of Strat Aero.
Shares in the company were up 5.0% to 12.60 pence on Monday morning.
