LONDON (Alliance News) - Infrastructure and support services company Stobart Group Ltd on Thursday said it saw a rise in biomass tonnes supplied in the first quarter of its financial year, though it saw a fall in passenger numbers to London Southend Airport, which the company runs.
Stobart said total biomass tonnages supplied in the first quarter to the end of May was 247,000. The company is targeting deliveries of 2 million tonnes of biomass fuel by 2017/18 and supplied 1.2 million tonnes in the year to the end of February.
The company said it is considering further opportunities for contracted work with other customers and has made its first supplies to its Londonderry plant in the past month.
At London Southend Airport, however, the company said passenger numbers were down by 58% year-on-year in the quarter to 231,000, though the load factor of the flights from the airport was stronger and revenue per passenger increased.
Stobart also said its rail, infrastructure and investment divisions are performing in line with its expectations.
Shares in Stobart were down 1.2% to 107.50 pence on Thursday.
