27th Apr 2015 08:03

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sterling Energy PLC on Monday said it has started a 3D seismic survey on the high-graded portion of the Ambilobe oil and gas project in Madagascar.

CGG Services SA is handling the survey and completion is expected within 45 to 60 days.

"We are looking forward to safely and efficiently acquiring the first 3D seismic survey on the Ambilobe Block; providing valuable new data which will be used to identify potential drillable prospects," said Sterling Chief Executive Eskil Jersing.

Shares in Sterling were up 0.3% to 17.42 pence.
