LONDON (Alliance News) - Sterling Energy PLC on Wednesday said Executive Chairman Alastair Beardsall is retiring from the company with immediate effect for "personal reasons".
The oil and gas exploration company has promoted Non-Executive Director Nicholas Clayton as Non-Executive Chairman to succeed Beardsall.
Clayton has been a non-executive director at Sterling Energy since 2009 and also carries out the same role at London-listed Alpha Petroleum Resources Ltd and Circle Oil PLC.
"The management team looks forward to working with the board in an aligned and driven fashion to deliver on our strategy for growth and shareholder value," Chief Executive Eskil Jersing said in a statement.
Shares in Sterling Energy were trading up 5.9% at 16.68 pence on Wednesday morning.
