LONDON (Alliance News) - Stellar Resources PLC Wednesday said its two tonne per hour gold processing plant has now arrived at the Clogau St David's gold mine in North Wales.
The company said the plant will now go through the process of being constructed in modified facilities near the entrance to the Clogau mine, a famous site which once provided gold for the British Royal Family, before commissioning.
The new treatment plant will allow the start of small-scale pilot processing of gold ore and also to help assess underground samples.
The plant's arrival had been delayed. At the start of May, Stellar, which has a 49% stake in the company that has an option on the Dolgellau Gold Belt licence that contains Clogau, had said it expected the plant to be delivered on or around May 23.
However, bulk samples from the underground operations have been stockpiled at the mine in preparation for the arrival of the new treatment plant, the company said last week.
The underground workings of the mine have been rehabilitated over the past few years, and the owners are hoping tests will show that gold can again be mined profitably at the site using new technology.
Stellar Resources shares were up 0.3% to 0.777 pence, putting it amongst the top ten AIM ALL-Share risers during early trading on Wednesday.
