LONDON (Alliance News) - Stellar Diamonds PLC on Wednesday said it has secured environmental approval on the mining licence application for the Tongo Dyke-1 project in Sierra Leone.
The diamond development company said it has received a letter of approval for its Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment from the Environmental Protection Agency in the country.
"We will now schedule a meeting with the EPA to discuss and agree on the fee relating to the issuing of the environmental licence," said Chief Executive Karl Smithson.
"We have also recently successfully concluded the surface rental agreement with the landowners and other key stakeholders and this will now be incorporated in to a legally binding agreement," he added.
Shares in Stellar were down 3.3% to 10.15 pence early Wednesday.
