Starcom Snaps Up New Contract For Helios Hybrid System After Tender

8th Sep 2015 08:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Wireless remote tracking and monitoring products company Starcom PLC on Tuesday said it has secured a new contract for its Helios Hybrid tracking system following a tender.

Starcom said the contract has been awarded by an unnamed international organisation and the order will comprise 100 units with a total value of USD91,000.

"Our clear and unique advantage over our international competition is our ability to operate the Helios tracking system using only satellite connection, rather than the standard GPS, which does not offer full global coverage," said Avi Hartmann, Starcom's chief executive.

"We have spent much time and effort on the development of the Helios Hybrid, and we believe we have a world class product for customers who need a reliable tracking system on their assets in areas where only satellite coverage is available," he added.

Shares in Starcom were up 11% to 4.175 pence on Tuesday morning.
