LONDON (Alliance News) - Starcom PLC Tuesday said it has signed a non-exclusive distribution agreement with South American telecoms distributor MAM Objects SL for distribution of its WatchLock device.
The maker of wireless remote tracking, monitoring and protection products said the deal is for the distribution of WatchLock throughout Central and South America, but initial deployment will be in Ecuador and Colombia.
"Following the distribution agreement in the Ukraine earlier in the year, this agreement will see the WatchLock marketed in the fast developing Latin American market which we hope will result in significant sales of the product in the region," Starcom Chief Executive Avi Hartmann said in a statement.
WatchLock attaches to fixed and mobile property in the same way as a normal padlock, but has the added functionality of real time location services and tracking. It sends a report to its owner if there is any attempted tampering while simultaneously transmitting its location to an on line web portal.
Starcom shares were up 10/7% at 21.59 pence Tuesday morning.
