LONDON (Alliance News) - Stanley Gibbons Group PLC said Friday it appointed Mark West as non-executive director of the collectables auctioneer with effects from next Monday.
West is an "experienced" executive in the retail industry. Most recently, he served as chief technology officer of luxury goods firm JAB Luxury GmbH until June. Prior to this, he worked as a director at upmarket department store Harrods as well as a consultant for firms including Burberry PLC, Hamleys and Fat Face.
"I am very pleased to welcome Mark West to the board," Stanley Gibbons Chief Executive Officer Graham Shircore said. "Mark's background gives him a strong fundamental and commercial understanding of building brand value and making the best use of modern technology. Both of these will be very beneficial to the group as we continue to make progress towards our longer-term goals."
Shares in Stanley Gibbons were 2.0% lower at 3.92 pence on Friday.
