LONDON (Alliance News) - Standard Chartered PLC on Tuesday said it promoted Vishu Ramachandran to the new role of retail banking head, effective July 16.
Prior to the appointment, Ramachandran served as Standard Chartered's head of retail banking for South Asia, the Middle East, Pakistan and Africa. He was also a chief financial officer, chief credit officer and chief operating officer of the retail bank.
The FTSE 100-listed bank said the promotion was made to strengthen the team that focuses on delivering financial services to clients in Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
The company said it already saw the significant progress in the market and expects Ramachandran to accelerate Standard Chartered's efforts to digitise its business, enhance value proposition, and grow emerging affluent client base.
"I'm delighted to have Vishu in this crucial role as we continue to bring more of our global and regional capabilities together for our clients," said Retail Banking & Wealth Management Chief Executive Ben Hung.
